I am dedicated to providing compassionate counselling services to individuals and couples. It is my goal is to empower clients to achieve their personal goals, overcome challenges, heal and be able to move forward. In my practice I am dedicated to providing person-centred care to each of my clients. In counselling I use a variety of techniques from evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness practices with a focus on nervous system regulation. It is my believe that wellbeing can only be achieved in a holistic approach, addressing both, the mind and body. When working with relationships I follow the Gottman method which focuses on communication, conflict resolution, re-building friendship and common goals and dreams.
In 2022 I graduated from Rhodes Wellness College with a Professional Counselling degree. I am a Registered Professional Counsellor Candidate (RPC-C) with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA). My work is supervised and follows strict ethical guidelines and professional standards.
I was born and raised in Germany. In my first career I was a biochemist. In 2007 I immigrated into Canada and have made Calgary, Alberta my home.
I grew up in an area with many willow trees. In fact, an old German word for willow is the name of the town I grew up in.
A willow's branches bend and do not easily break. Willows can get pruned and their branches will grow back. Their cut off branches can be planted and will grow. Willows are a symbol for resilience, our ability to bounce back. They are often seen as a metaphor for humans' capability to withstand difficult circumstances, turn crisis into opportunity, strive and grow.
